• Join The Quarry

The property hasn't changed much since the early days. Filled with spring water, the Quarry remains hidden in the woods, surrounded by a natural environment.

  • Enjoy The Summer

You can see egrets, bass and sunfish, turtles, and you can always catch a frog. Nearby, there are resident beavers in the Simpaug Pond, which is owned by the Town of Bethel, and they continue to build their mud dams during the off-season.

  • And Make Memories

Active participation means you and your family, as current members of Limekiln have the responsibility to safeguard, nurture, protect, and most importantly, enjoy this great legacy.

WHO WE ARE

Member-owned since 1962, the Limekiln Swimming Association's property hasn't changed much since those early days. Filled with spring water, the Quarry remains hidden in the woods with no running water or electricity. There is a portable bathroom as well as a campground. Members share the responsibility to safeguard, nurture, protect, and most importantly, enjoy this great legacy.

WHAT TO DO

Along with just enjoying the Quarry beach there are activities. Swimming classes are offered. The camping and BBQ area may be requested for parties. Members are encouraged to participate in the annual spring clean up held every year in order to get the Quarry ready for the season.
